With over 20 years of experience , Fontenac’s dedication to her clients and to protect the integrity of the hair industry lead her to open Primped in 2015. She discovered her infatuation for hair when she was 16, while in college at Alabama A&M University she worked in a few salons were she was introduced to the industry and decided to move forward to become a respected hair stylist and graduated from Long Island Beauty School in 2004.
Since then she has freelanced for brides and bridal parties, photo shoots, commercials, video shoots, print ads, hair and fashion shows, magazines, as well as private parties. She has also worked in salon settings in Queens, Long Island, and Manhattan.
She enjoys styling and cutting the most, however she is very strong with coloring, installing weaves, chemical free hair, locs & image consulting as well.
For years, she has listened to clients with concerns about hair and scalp issues. Realizing that maintenance at home was well needed and education was lacking. So she started to research natural, holistic and ayurvedic remedies for home hair care. Ultimately Fontenac started teaching each client how to nurture their crown resulting in creating (THE GREEN LOC).
Since then, The Green Loc has been hand made by her in the salon and is used for in-house treatments as well as retail.
Her ultimate goal is to be able to share her knowledge with those who will appreciate while simultaneously building a team of experts that have the same interest, love and execution.
